甜蜜的生活，La Dolce Vita，扁口的意大利语，这个词不知道蹦了多少遍。是香水，是专辑，是早先文集的名字，是图书馆里老旧的资料库里那一卷上下两集的录像带，经过管理员的手递到我手里。六十年代的字幕，没有调光，黑白的屏幕上几乎看不清楚。那时候的罗马和今天的北京一样，五光十色，天上人间，到处是欣欣向荣的建筑工地和歌舞升平的老板小蜜，职业的狗仔队，艳丽的小明星，走水的妓女地下室，走投无路的知识分子，不知所云的沙龙。在费里尼嘴里，La Dolce Vita的名字出现得如此巧妙和讽刺，这就是甜蜜的生活，这就是我们的时代的甜蜜的生活。
这个电影让我想起很早的时候苏力在课堂上的一句话：“永远不要以为自己的时代是最好的时代”。苏力老师，我们从没有以为自己的时代是最好的，但我们不知道最好的时代在哪里。那些掌握着过去的人掌握着将来，而掌握着现在的人掌握着过去。激流勇进的大时代，我只能等待滚滚而来的历史车轮将我带往不知名的未来，被精密计算好的、受保护的、有组织的未来。记者马切洛选择了入世，而他的朋友斯坦尼选择了死亡。安妮塔在罗马泉水里的惊艳晃得我睁不开眼睛，我们只能屈服于这放纵慵懒，甜蜜空虚的生活？
费里尼太喜欢象征，他用海边少女纯洁和脸和开篇的耶稣像相呼应，却让二者不约而同地缄默，没有给我们任何答案。而跨越重重山水的我，在那一扇明丽风景倒映的背后，无止无尽地寻找你的影子。什么是甜蜜的生活？是下着雪的北京寒冷冬夜，那路灯下的一长串脚印，还是如今圣迭戈海边，夕阳下的振翅欲飞的海鸥？我无法回答，也不能回答。
